How to control anxiety: habits for a more peaceful and happy life

We need some degree of anxiety to stay active, generate ideas, enjoy fantasies and feel satisfied with achievements. But when the anxiety becomes uncontrollable, the opposite effect occurs, which distracts us, nerves paralyze us and worries can overwhelm us.

But it is also essential to practice some physical exercise, to help us release tension and feel more energetic, more vital. If we do the physical exercise late in the afternoon, we will be helping to alleviate one of the worst symptoms of anxiety, such as insomnia. Because if we do not sleep well, we do not live well.

Continuing with the necessary changes, we must make in our lifestyle to keep anxiety at bay; the next step after starting a healthy life plan is organization. Often, anxiety is generated by poor organization, by the accumulation of pending labors, work or personal tasks.

So, a good idea is to keep an agenda up to date. First, we must resolve the outstanding issues and, once free of past obligations, focus on the day to day. When it comes to organizing, we have to be realistic about the objectives, something that may take a few weeks.

In any case, it is very important to dedicate ourselves some time each day to ourselves. It takes 20 minutes to disconnect from obligations, responsibilities and concerns and dedicate them solely to thinking or doing what makes us happy.
